I'm afraid it's the sign of the times we must have time off for the kids at the slightest whim. Yes by all means for summer holidays but not any other time it's a bit pathetic, and what if the kids are in their late teens I don't think they need all that. Never happened in my time!! PS The DJ's didn't do that in the 70's!!!

Well, we aren't in "your time" any more. My parents often have time off when my sister is also off school, to spend time together as a family, funnily enough. "A bit pathetic" well, I don't see how having time off is pathetic? We get paid to have annual leave so we have to use it...We aren't in the 70's anymore!
