Stead Field October 1994
Stead Field October 1994
Bit of a long shot, but was on the George Pick west coast trip and have some photos from Stead Field. Have id'd some airframes but most I've not managed.
CH-54A with 436 on the nose.
CH-54A with 412? on the nose.
Mig-15 twin seat coded 17, dark grey upper and light grey lower surfaces.
Mig-15 silver with red line down the fuselage extending to the tail
MiG-15 twin seat all silver. US reg on the tail, but unreadable.
Silver transport aircraft, possibly an IL-14.
Other Migs dotted around the field and hangars that don't have any markings at all.
Any help with id's greatly appreciated.

Re: Stead Field October 1994
I visited Reno-Stead in Oct 92.
'17' was Mig-15UTI N17KM
In 92 there were two silver IL-14s on the field. VEB-14P N163RR and IL-14P N606RR. N606RR carried no external marks or reg.
I later saw N606RR at Sonoma County Airport, CA in Oct 94 so your IL-14 was presumably N163RR.

CH-54A 67-18418 is/was preserved at Reno-Stead
What year was your visit may help to tie up some of your migs
