Are the VC-25s visible from the backroad around Stansted and are there places to park? Never spotted there before.
Thanks

Currently 3 police helicopters orbiting at Watford, with 3 US Army Chinooks also holding close by.
Chinook callsigns Nighthawk 3, 4 and 8.

17:05 Stansted arrivals on hold for an indeterminate time

Some Ryanair flights are already talking about diverting - its outrageous. Why does an airport come to a complete stand still just for POTUS it doesn't happen for anyone else?

Having said that some RYR flights are entering the hold with only 20 minutes fuel before diverting to Luton

The FedEx is talking about going to Paris

The controller is saying the has not got a clue when normal service will continue.

Is this an overreaction by Stansted or the 'Law'?

Emirates 67 going to Gatwick after 30 minutes.
One Ryanair is saying they will land at Luton and return empty to Stansted :)

I am outraged - I feel a letter coming on!

RYR 2469 going to EMA
RYR 8777 to EMA

17:31 AF1 has lined up but controller still sending jets away

Probably be Shannon by now - it's out over the Bristol channel.

A Hungarian AF Falcon 7x 477FF6, and a Macedonian government Learjet 51200F Z3-MKD left Stansted also.

I think you will find that the situation was exacerbated because Frump got the Hump and decided to leave early.

Going back in time, the Americans used to want an airport closed for an hour before the arrival of AF1 and entourage. We gave them short shrift to that idea at LHR, much to the annoyance of the yanks, but they soon changed their ideas.

I thought in was lock down twenty minutes before arrival until twenty minutes after. Why don't they just fly into Mildenhall and heli down to London or
wherever he is spending the first night, the extra travelling time would be minutes. That way they wouldn't inconvenience anybody. Mind you an arrival
into Mildenhall would not be showy enough for them, and they do like to make a big deal of arriving anywhere.

There is no need to stop the movements - what do they think is going to happen - someone jumping out of an airliner onto the ramp?

They don't shut the airport for the Queen do they and she is more important.
