I think the scenario you're looking at is the incoming flight is coming in from Barksdale with replacement personnel and returning to Barksdale with those being relieved?

Hi everyone...

I've been looking through this thread for a possible depature date and can only see the above quote that gives any kind of idea as to when this deployment may end.

I have a good opportunity this Saturday / Sunday to have a drive by Fairford and take a look at the B52's... is it therefore... safe to say... the jets will still be there over this weekend.

Many thanks for any help given :thumb:

Regards.

Obviously there is the chance that they may fly over the weekend, like the did two weeks ago.

Are you travelling from far? If they did decide to head home it would more than likely be during the week, if however they did decide to go there are normally clues out there that give some degree of fore warning which some of the guys on here are good at deciphering. So you should get a couple of hours notice hopefully.

Hi Thunder

Thanks for the extra info and help... very much appreciated :thumb:

Im coming down from Yorkshire on Saturday for a day in Oxford then over to Cirencester for an overnight stay before heading back up on Sunday.

It's a bit of a compromise trip... . Oxford shops keep the Wifey happy and entertained and I get to pop in at Brize and Fairford   ... although, the weather might change our plans as it is looking a tad miserable at the moment down there over tbe weekend.

Thanks again for your help. :thumb:

Today's mission will recover to Moron AB, Spain, so there will be one less B-52 at FFD tomorrow at least you know they aren't going home.

Thanks Thunder

Am I right in thinking that the land away jet is 0006?

The B52 I need is 0028 so I`m hoping this is one of the three still on the ground at Fairford... I will be driving by at some point tomorrow afternoon if I can get the wife to shop a little bit faster than normal  if not it will be a look in on Sunday morning.

Regards.

Showing this morning on radar 360 it was 0006 from memory, so you should see 0028 if you visit tomorrow

A media event is planned for the 7th, if that helps.

Interesting to have a media day so late in the deployment.

Perhaps the Media Day is about the future, not only the deployment?

Most actual Media Briefings for exercises these days is usually in the last week, with just a short printed notice just before the event or just after StartEx.
