Cameras & setups
Re: Cameras & setups
I have a Nikon D500 and use either a Nikon 200-500mm or 70-300mm AF-P to shoot with. I tend to shoot manual to get the aperture and shutter speeds I require and adjust the ISO to suit

Re: Cameras & setups
Bought my first DSLR this summer. Had a bonus from work so opted for Canon 5DmkIV, it came as a bundle with the 28-105 F4 L IS. I bought a Canon 100mm macro, a 1.4x converter, battery grip and spare batteries and a Canon 100-400 L IS II...... I really fancy a 300 F2.8 this year but will have to see how ££ goes....

I would take what crossbow22 say's with a pinch of salt. It's a temporarily banned user trying to circumnavigate their ban and get enough posts to get access to Heads up etc

Re: Cameras & setups
I use the Canon 80d with a Sigma 150-600mm contemporary lens.
Re: Cameras & setups
I have two Canon 5d Mk 2's with battery grips, a Canon 100-400 L series and 17-40 L series, taken a long long time to get them, have a tripod and gimbal along with filters.
That'll do for now, unless Lenny Lottery comes along

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!
Re: Cameras & setups
The core kit I currently use is a Nikon D500 with Tamron 150-600mm G2 or Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR (first generation) with or without the 1.4x extender/ teleconverter.
I also have a Nikon D5300 (which my son now uses) paired with the very much underrated, but excellent Nikon 55-300mm. There's also a Nikon D3400 I use for air show statics and light weight kit for travelling etc.
Probably my favourite camera I no longer own is Nikon D300s. In decent light and ISO's below 400 it was brilliant and still is today. Until last year I had a pair of D7200 that I sold to buy the D500.
My next purchase (depending on how much I can save) will be a used second body for RIAT 2020.
In my opinion all these modern camera are excellent, the more featured (and more expensive) just make it a bit easier and are more assured with action shooting. However my Nikon D3400 or D5300 with the Nikon 55-300mm is an excellent setup and relatively light weight.

I'm part of the soft image side of things, that's what nikon users will tell you anyway
Canon 5DIII & 100-400mm II here (previously 300mm f4 that I also rated.)
35L is my general walk around lens.

Re: Cameras & setups
Well since the 2020 Air show season is set to be a complete write off and there's nowhere to go, I decided to take the plunge and indulged in a "cheeky little" EF 300 2.8L IS from MPB (used of course)

Re: Cameras & setups
I'm looking to purchase the Sigma 150-600 C - does anyone have any good recommendations as to where to buy it from? Been looking at various places online all seem to be around the same £700-800 mark.
