A busy day at RAF Honington July 1993.

Post by fisherman » Mon Aug 19, 2019 2:45 pm

Whilst sorting through the Italian Tornados in my previous post I found these RAF Tornados, predominantly GR.1s from 15 Res Sqn, 27 Sqn, 617 Sqn, and a GR.1A from 13 Sqn all very busy, flying!

Very nostalgic! Used to spend too much time looking over the fence at Honington. Certainly miss the action now.

Camo and squadron markings, wonderful.

First time I went to Honington they had Buccaneers, sadly no photos but they were very twitchy about spotters back then so I would not have lasted long at the fence.

I only went there once, must of been over thirty years ago, I remember the HAS shelters looked brand new.

Loved Honington especially the Buccs but they didn't like you hanging around the fence. The number of times we were moved on - miserable buggers!
