Remember Headingley 1981, was out chasing aircraft around Lincolnshire on a Priory exercise, get home to find incredibly we had one the test match from a seemingly impossible position.
Listened to todays victory washing up after Sunday lunch..... Ben Stokes is a genius and cricket a wonderful game.

I was working at Thorpe Park in Surrey - the whole office was enthralled. That series and Beefy's exploits reignited my interest in cricket. As a lad I remember watching John Edrich and Kalakatran?? For Surrey.

Sorry just remembered - it was Intikhab Alam ( looked up correct spelling) overseas players held a kind of mystique for us.
Occasionally Surrey would play home games at Byfleet and also Guildford so I could cycle to the ground.

Re: The Ashes 2019
154-3 now, cold and windy in Manchester, the bails have been blown off by the wind a couple of times and crisp packets keep getting blown all the way across the pitch (along with a large beach ball).
Re: The Ashes 2019
170-3 when rain stopped play yet again about 2(ish) hours ago.
Re: The Ashes 2019
Head out lbw for 19, 183-4. Smith is still there and is on 72.
Re: The Ashes 2019
Wade out caught on 16, 224-5. Smith is on 90.
