If I may ask; if one would want to give it a shot and try to take some photos during take off from the A607 running south west of the runway, is there any chance to park your car along the A607 or in / around Harmston?
I don#t want to run into trouble or cause trouble making my way there in the first place.

many thanks in advance for any helpful reply.

Harmston village is closed to traffic, except for access, so have never drove through. The only usable road is church lane to hill top etc after the B1178, but you can't park on there. You'd be better parking as far south as you can get in Waddington Village and walking south, or Coleby Village and walk north. Thats obviously if the layby on the B1178 is full.

Hope that helps!!

Thanks a ton for the quick reply. O.k. then Harmston is a no go. Are there any public accessable car parks / spots in Waddington village?
I thought the layby on the B1178 was cornered off for the exercise?

Theres two laybys on the B1178, the north one is closed, the south one is open.
Plenty of streets to park in at Waddington, millers road, the first estate on the left on the A607 heading north has parking.

Sounds like a plan, I can't get there until after 9am on Wednesday so will be heading to the south of the field as well for the launches, might see you around.

Went to Waddington today and found that Stepladders were tolerated base side of the A15. Just keep back from the fence itself. A few persons were removed from between the traffic lights by civilian Police. Just don't go past the traffic lights and you will be fine. Unless that changes of course!! Rumour has it that all Israeli departures will be off runway 02 whatever the runway in use, as happened today with the B707 and the C130 the other day. Hope this helps

That would really be nice. I hope I'll be there between Sep 9 and Sep 11. Thinking about trying my luck in Fairford on Sep 10 in case god has mercy and has the B-2s remain in the UK till that week?!

Sorry if I sound stupid but just for clarification "departure off runway 02"; would mean take off towards north east or TO towards southwest. I confess I still mix that up a lot.

Take off towards the north east over the A15

Seems very strange to take off on 02 whatever the wind .
Does that mean they will also land on 02 ??
More intersted in landing shots than high in the sky take-offs.

Cheers

As had been pointed out on another thread, these crews fly active missions back home most days. Israel is a far cry from the freedom we have here. With that in mind it is not surprising that they are taking these measures. I would suggest we should be grateful they're here at all and have thought for their safety both here and when they return to Israel.

No, land runway 20 and off straight in to their ramp. Probably why the track at the 02 end is out of bounds.
