It says No to ladders, but nothing about po-go sticks, so providing I can get some good momentum going should be good.
Honestly no ladders, good luck with that .

Why does it matter?

There's an exercise team on base, and a few of them are members of the wave group on Facebook its come from them.

It matters because the carpark was opened so spotters have somewhere safe to park for free whilst spotting, not fot the owners of the burger van to milk us when it suits

Well i guess like it or not those are the facts,
I'll be giving this a miss i think but i suggest people adhere to what they are asking us to do,

Think the Police will be pretty quick in moving people on if they break the requested Rules.

It sucks though,
Mark.

Just wait till later on in the exercise to go then it will be quieter and the police will have got bored with moving people on or if you want you can go to coningsby and lakenheath where you can see the same types of aircraft that will be in the exercise for free!

I can assure you Lee, that The WAVE does not get a penny from gate receipts.
RAF personnel will be on the gates and marshalling traffic.
All monies raised on the gate will go towards paying for the costs of extra toilets and what's left goes to the RAF Benevolent Fund.
Everything in the information leaflet, including printing has been done on base and we have no say in it.
I agree with you as I would have preferred it to be free, but this is not my decision.
John
Should be a good few week for you John food / Trade wise. About time you had some good trade after many years of hard work, :thumb:

All the best.

Good Luck to anybody that can get to photograph Israeli operational jets for only a fiver elsewhere? Suck-it up or stay at home!
John, can you please give me the hot-line number for advance orders? ;)

I guess as long as the hedge isn't too overgrown then taxi shots and normal landing should be ok from the A15. It is starting to sound like all similar deployments though, I guess it'll settle down once they're here and everyone can get their shots.

I think the solution for a large number of personnel has been given earlier; if it's not to your taste, go elsewhere - Coningsby in fact and enjoy much the same for free.
No issue with fence/hedge matters either.

All The WAVE is interested in is selling you people, food and drink and ensuring you can all keep safe and enjoy the exercise.
It's sad that after 10 years of tenure, were still getting negative comments, but that's the nature of the best.
Not everyone will be happy and to a degree, neither am I, but like I said, it's totally out of our control sadly.
Sad that people jump to (the worst) conclusions before arming themselves with the facts. I'm sure though Lee will be along with an apology soon enough...…. :pop:

All you're going to photograph is the back of peoples heads without the use of steps, unless you can camp at the hedge line all night.... :@
Can't say I'm happy about any of this, I was really looking forward to the exercise but I'm not going to travel over 3 hours each way NOT to get photos.
The last time I was at Waddington you needed steps and it wasn't five deep with people at the time, like it will be for this.

Guessing the Number Cruncher's wont be as bothered anyway as long as they can read off the jets,More of a photography issue.
That reminds me John , Are you providing hot water for all the pot noodles that will be consumed. :)

No mate, not needed, just need the RAF to re-think about restricting ladders.

Appreciate your reply John, we had a chap on my facebook group saying he was going to be a marshal so its interesting to see you say the RAF will be providing the marshals during the excercise

Apart from the arrival days for the airshows when the RAF made peeps pay to park in the wave carpark
this is is surely a new venture by the MOD to charge peeps to watch from outside the base for an excercise

We're trying to get one, but they're not cheap and needs planning permission which has been refused in the past
John
John, if its Not a permanent fixture like the trailer in johns field at the hall maybe you don't need planning permission having said that I guess your battling with the MOD and council, its all about making money!!
