If it uses the same people and format as their train series, it was cringe-worthy and will wind us all up!
It does and is...

I watched it last night...after 5 mins I turned it off
I do what the voices in my head tell me to do!!!!

It's been made for Joe Public that can't tell the difference between a Concorde and a Lancaster, it is an absolute cringe for most of us on here but is still a million times better than anything that Big Jet (or is it Joke) TV have ever done.

Absolutely cringe-worthy... and since when did 'Plane-spotting' include collecting 4000+ sick bags from around the world!!

in addition, one of them cannot tell the difference between a B.727 and a B737🤣🤣

I disagree, there's plenty of people on here who class themselves as "spotters" but also collect aviation related artifacts and memorabilia. Just look at the numerous patch and challenge coin threads.

It's all part and parcel of the hobby imho and should be encouraged.

As for the actual programme, mmmmm it's a bit cringe but if it achieves nothing else other than drawing a few new people to our shared hobby then it will have achieved something valuable.

More young aviation enthusiasts would not be so terrible?

I've not seen a sick bag on a flight with the airline's logo on it for about 20 years, it all seems to be plain white ones these days.

I have, on occasions, found comments written on them like "Open other end", or "Sorry about the diced carrots at the bottom", not to mention disgustingly funny remarks in the magazines.

are you questioning my sanity? :grr:

I have to confess that I only have around 700 though, pride of place in my study is one flown on XH558 and signed by Martin Withers

I did meet a guy with over 1000 when we both did a radio interview about the hobby about 20 years ago, he may have 4000 by now!

And to stop anyone asking, none are used. My wife inadvertently used one in my car that was 'pending filing' when one of the children was a bit sick, it was quite a rare one so I rescued it and washed it out. It still smelt a bit when I tried to dry it on a radiator.

I have to confess they aren't all aviation ones, I know I've got one from a submarine and another from the Japanese Bullet train.

some readers may know me from other fora where my username is sickbag-andy BTW

now about that allegation of sanity (or lack of)....................

Good for you andygolfer :thumb:

Funny story about one coming in handy in the car.
Interesting that they had them on the Bullet train!

Really found this cringeworthy when I watched it tonight

"And that is a lovely Spitfire isn't it?"
"Lysander"
"Lysander yes"

Probably the worst moment for me.

It very much surprised me that the Ex RAF Jag pilot didn't know the Nationality of the Belgium F16 in DDay sceme... saying he thought it was Dutch because they have a 350 sqn.

Equally... the Pesidents B747 discribed as Airforce One... well if I'm not mistaken that would be a VC25 and AF1 being the call sign off POTUS not the name of the jet.

Rant over😁

That's what I thought too, however the official White House website states:

"Technically, Air Force One is used to describe any Air Force aircraft carrying the President — but since the middle of the 20th century, it has been standard practice to refer to specific planes that are equipped to transport the Commander-in-Chief. "

So technically we are right - just everyone else becoming "lazy".
