Did all the 40 people + the reserves send copies of the required id to him and did he then forward this to Lakenheath? I see no evidence of this happening within this thread.
Did he organise a coach?
Did people send any form of payment for a coach?
I suspect organising this tour may have become too much for him.
I agree with Mike ..... It’s time to let people know what is happening.

He has been posting on other forums as recently as 11/07. Bad show perhaps a administrator/moderator could do something regarding his membership of this group.

I don't remember any mention about a coach being organised.

Only cursory details of identity were ever asked for. No actual proof of ID requested. :S

Anyone fancy giving Lakenheath Public Affairs office a ring?

I'm looking into it, the situation and user has been brought to my attention a couple of times.

Hi, so just waiting to hear back from them if we have been accepted and a date. Tour time is 11:30 - 3:30PM, the idea i had is that anyone driving, could drive and park at the viewing area, then i could arrange for a coach to maybe start at the local train station (Brandon) for anyone traveling by train, then come to the viewing area, pick us up, then go to the base and then the reverse coming home?

The tour is not designed for photography BUT,,,,you can take photos when permitted (looking at previous tours on here, im pretty sure you will be happy with the photo opportunities)

Sound good?

Been on a few of these tours now & organised a couple with Teejay (Trev) - coach is a definite requirement and they will need the reg of the bus and the driver details as well

Not too hard to organise one - USAF were brilliant every time including right up to the morning when I had to call them to change the bus details. Brilliant hosts

Get a list of people, DoB, ID type they will bring and details of the ID (ie passport number). Take payment in advance to pay for coach (and lunch at Mildenhall last time). Pay for bus and all meet up on the day and enjoy!

Feel sorry for you guys if the tour does not go ahead

Its not right really - he needs to let people know what is going on, or what has happened. Could be a reason why....

Hi

Just spoke with the Airforce, i was waiting and waiting for them to contact me, anyway it turns out they have had a re-shuffle in their public relations office and we got missed on a update, anyway they have said the tour is still on, and the 2nd of august is still the date, i am getting sent all the final paper work today, so i will contact the people i sent private messages to advising the details they need to send me, my mobile number ect ect so they can contact me directly.

Just a reminder, i did say i will update people when i get an update from the USAF,,,i haven't taken a single penny of anyone, i'm not a tour operator and have never done anything like this before, i don't live on this site am a very busy person away from my passion for aviation , my inbox on this forum gets filled up constantly (like you would not believe) because of this tour so sorry if i haven't replied directly,,,,i am only trying to get us a good day out, no need for the hostility!

Will send the messages out Sunday as i am leaving for RIAT tonight  , so please have a nice RIAT if you are going :thumb: , and please keep an eye on the inbox Sunday as i guess i'm going to need copies of driving licences for their security, we can do all this over email and i will forward the USAF emails so people can see for themselves.

Many thanks, Michael

Just got this okay, so heads up,,,

Good afternoon Mr. Hernaman,

Firstly, thank you for being so gracious. Per our telephone conversation today, please complete and return the attached documents no later than COB Tuesday 23 July.

Our Office will not be able provide an itinerary at this time due to the many working pieces involved in conducting the tour on an operational base, however, we would like to inquire of any special considerations ( wheel chairs, walkers etc), that must be kept in mind for coordination of the itinerary. We will try our best to accommodate your requests on the tour request forms submitted.

We ask that you arrive in a coach at 11:00am at gate 8 on the day of the tour with your ID's handy (corresponding to the IDs on the escortee document). Our community engagement team (cc’d) will meet you there and help get you through security.

After in-processing, our team will accompany your group on the coach for the guided tour. The tours are slightly fast paced, and unfortunately we do not have a lunch scheduled in, so I recommend that visitors bring a lunch with them and snack in-between stops. Sensible shoes are also recommended as there will be a bit of walking. The tour should be finished between 3 - 3:30 pm.

Though there will be areas photography is prohibited , photographs are generally encouraged so please bring your cameras and enthusiasm. We are excited to have you and are looking forward to hosting the Eagles!!
