Trainer scheme, rather than the tactical one, although it was then decided that the USN would adopt the all-over blue for all aircraft! :S

Something like that Chris.

Or an overall Gloss Sea Blue a/c in USN service in 1945.

Thats the colour I did my 48th scale flight 19 one. It will really bring out the detail in the airframe, I think xtracolour/xtracrylic do the exact paint you will be after :thumb:

Looking good so far - you must be 40% through the build already?

Blimey am I right thinking that this is a 3 month not 3 day build ;)

Coming on nicely Daz, take your time with the painting, thin it nicely before you brush it on... If it helps get some Micromesh or mild grade sanding sponges from MDC as these help a lot (a lot of the guys on here use them to smooth the paint)
Coming on nicely though!

Like the Idea of a diorama....

I did have that in mind for my build....

Looking forward to seeing this one, especially if it is on a deck of a carrier

thanks, i need to remove the flaps and cut down the inner one :'( as i forgot the RAF ones have shorter ones on the inner of the 2 compared to the forigne ones

otherwise its going well, my problem now is im working for the next 5 days so time is against me to finish for the 17th, but we shall see

the decals arrived yesterday as did the etch, but i think i will save that for the second one, also waiting for a new etch bending tool, to do the canopy mirrors

Thank you for the comments guys :thumb:

I`m going for quantity over quality Andy  Ive got feeling Ben might take the prize for the biggest if he goes for what I think he will :D

James - that Alclad stuff, thats for real modelers  :D I have my schem planned and I think it might get a mixed reception :halo:

I am on with the interior at the moment, I hate interiors. I guess thats kind of strange for somebody who builds models :S

The kits not good to be honest. It does not help that the previous owner snapped some of the parts off :@ I think I am going to have a lot of trouble getting the centre section together :( Quite a lot of flash on the small parts.

I know I am going to love it when it is all together and and I can get some paint on.

If I need to make up my pic count I will put one of the cockpit on at some time  :D

Lots of competion this time. Good luck all

Ben
