Cleaned some recent posts and unlocked.
It's an open discussion thread where anyone can participate but please keep it sensible and respectful - not easy as I know (nearly) every enthusiast cares about RIAT.

So last update tomorrow? Think Japan will be confirmed if they are attending and I am hoping we find out if/what the Sunday flypasts will be.
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread
Got to be a B2 I need surely....needed the Sunday one 2 years ago but was there on the Saturday and saw last year's on the Saturday and dropped it!
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread
My guess is either the KC-767 or C-2. If they are coming.Red-Eye-Knight wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 9:32 pmSo last update tomorrow? Think Japan will be confirmed if they are attending and I am hoping we find out if/what the Sunday flypasts will be.
Imagine if a KC-767 was dragging Phantoms with it. Imagine everyone slating RIAT suddenly changing their mind and tone...

IF it is a B-2 again, I doubt they would announce it. The first anyone knew about it, was when the display time sheets were handed out - 2017 then 2018, so I reckon the same format. If that is the case again this year, I hope they don't ruin it like last year and keep the B-2 in the hold for too long

I'd be exceptionally happy to be proved wrong but I seem to remember that the Japanese Phantoms were built without IFR capability and I don't know if it was ever retrofitted.TomTwin wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 9:57 pmMy guess is either the KC-767 or C-2. Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread
Today's update:
With just over a week to go until the start of the 2019 Air Tattoo we're back with another addition to our NATO flypasts! The French Air Force will be providing a KC-135R tanker to the already announced line up.
The French Navy also confirms an Embraer Emb-121 Xingu on static display.

Be nice to see a French KC-135 Xingu is a cool addition. Seems all the French assets will be used in this Sunday's Bastille Day Flypast

Also, further update RE NATO Flypast:
So - They are still working on something for Sunday - Must be 'special' if they can't announce it yet! There's hopeWe can now reveal more about the special 70th anniversary flypast being planned to showcase NATO's air power capabilities at the 2019 Air Tattoo. This will be the only official NATO flypast taking place at a UK airshow this summer.
Joining the already confirmed NATO E-3A AWACS will be aircraft from Belgium, Denmark, Germany the United States of America and the UK.
The additional aircraft will include F-16AM fighters from the Belgian Air Component, whilst Germany offers a substantial commitment with Eurofighter EF2000s, A400M and Tornado strike aircraft.
The Royal Danish Air Force will also contribute with F-16 fighters, whilst the United States Air Force will be joining the flypast with F-15 aircraft from RAF Lakenheath. The Royal Air Force also plan to provide Typhoon fighters.
This commemorative flypast is due to take place on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 July. Where the flypast aircraft will operate from is yet to be confirmed, although it is hoped that some will be based at RAF Fairford.
We are still working on special flypasts for Sunday 21 July and will bring you more news as soon as we can.

Posted weeks ago on here my friend.......Zac Hinchcliffe wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2019 11:23 amPosted at the top of the Confirmed Aircraft page. Haven't noticed this before so I assume this is a recent addition. We populate the Friday/Saturday/Sunday columns when we are aware of what days aircraft are flying. The Friday display will not be confirmed fully until shortly before the show.
Saturday & Sunday Flying Display
We are aware that some people are disappointed, as we are, but unfortunately it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep the flying display programme the same for the Saturday and Sunday of the airshow. Factors that can affect the ability of aircraft to participate can come down to availability of an airframe, a crew's flying hours, cost and commitments elsewhere.
Like you, we would like nothing better than to stage every flying spectacle, especially the set pieces, on every day but sadly that is not always possible. Where we do have a chance to influence this, we do try and balance things out if we can and for 2019 we are working on some special flypasts for Sunday. When it comes to participating aircraft, we are often led by the requirements of the operator - and even factors on the day like poor weather can affect what we can put on due to different display heights etc.
We are grateful of all those that send aircraft to participate in the flying and static displays at the Air Tattoo and hope that they will continue to support the show and therefore the work of the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust, our parent charity.
We can confirm that the Red Arrows and Spanish Navy Harrier pair are planning to fly on all three days.
Friday Flying Display
This will not be confirmed fully until shortly before the show so there will be additional displays to those shown below.
I think moral of the story: go for the Saturday or the whole weekend in future! Sad that they have to admit the difficulties of the event in the current climate! Enjoy the scale of this magnificent airshow whilst you can!
