Re: Cosford Show Aircraft Moves Shawbury
FYI
Civvie and RAF Police have been checking the fences, and Rapra Lane this morning at the end of runway 36.
Spoke to the civvie police and they said they are concerned about people getting too close to the end of the runway!
But they have confirmed that they cannot shut the road/lane or stop members of the public accessing the field at the crash gate.
As long as the crash gate is kept clear then all is good they have advised.

Of course that would be a lot easier to achieve if the MoD actually forked-out for a sign to state that on their new gate!GhostWalker wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2019 10:32 am

Re: Cosford Show Aircraft Moves Shawbury
Any sign of the Czech’s coming out to play?
Re: Cosford Show Aircraft Moves Shawbury
All displays have been delayed due to a drone infringement between Cosford and Shawbury which was reported around 4pm local, first aircraft just off Cosford now at 16.50. At least the weather is a bit better!
Re: Cosford Show Aircraft Moves Shawbury
Anyone have any Departures times for Monday
Re: Cosford Show Aircraft Moves Shawbury
Presumably the Czechs haven't validated?
Re: Cosford Show Aircraft Moves Shawbury
The two L-159s were doing their routine with Spitfire G-PRXI around 17.40 local.

Red 10 has said in the mess this evening that any drone reports wont be taken lightly, and they will consider abandoning any aircraft movements out of Shawbury, including the display. There is always one idiot who has to go and do the stupid thing and stick a darn drone up. Well done you twit!
Re: Cosford Show Aircraft Moves Shawbury
Popped over to Shawbury this evening, It was my first time so im not familiar with the locations (ended up somewhere over the north side of the base down a side road). I could only spot the P-3 and the Reds, is everything else in the hangars or just not viewable from were I was?

Your better off at the South side runway 36. You can access a field via a crash gate and get to the end of 36 there. Very good views.

Yep you can just hop over the red crash gate and walk down but stick to the edge of the field only.

Re: Cosford Show Aircraft Moves Shawbury
Looks like there is not that much going out of Shawbury until after 2pm:
Reds 1445
Hornet 1545
P3 Orion 1645
Gripen 1645 ish
All approx based on display times at Cosford
Doesn't look like much before but may be corrected.
Typhoon display at Cosford at 1210 hours but they are NOT at Shawbury currently.
