Farnborough Airshow Help

Post by mudhen15 » Mon Jun 03, 2019 7:37 am

Going though old photo's, have come across some photo's that I can't identify which year they attended. Have looked on scramble, but had no luck. Hope someone can help.

SH-60B 162137 HSL-48 '500'
Vampire G-DHTT, G-DHWW, G-DHZZ flew as a 3-ship
Hunter G-BVVC

Thanks

Mudhen

A google of the SH-60B serial brings up some shots of it taken at Farnborough on 11/9/98.

Cheers,

G-DHTT, G-DHWW, G-DHZZ and G-BVVC are confirmed as having performed at the 1998 show.

PAUL: is there any chance you can confirm the serial on the SH-60B shown in your photos? Reason I ask is that the photos I looked at elsewhere and cited as being 162137 are also coming up as being SH-60B 164465, and the Farnborough Spotters listing for the 1998 show has the latter as being the one and only SH-60B in attendance.:S

Thanks for the clarifications.
Can't remember where I got the serial from. May have got the serial from one of the US Military serials book from the photo.

Yes it was 164465 , the serial is VERY faint but you can just make out the 5 at the end .

162137 was their CAG bird at a later date :S Maybe thats the confusion :S

Thanks for the info, Paul and Undertaker. Yes, 162137 was the CAG bird at a later date, or at least that is how it is painted now as it is on display in the US Navy's museum.

So, final submission: Farnborough 1998 was the year 164465 was in the static display, while G-DHTT, G-DHWW, G-DHZZ and G-BVVC took part in the flying display. Sorted. :thumb:

It was your photos and taking the time to confirm the final '5' of the serial that cracked it, so take a bow that man!
