And for the moaners who are complaining, just remember it is an RAF charity that benefits from our attendance.
That's helping all those who have flown, supported and enabled our air force and who have protected us and now need our support. So think about it! You are the lucky ones who can complain.

Seeing an update confirming that four Royal Navy aircraft will attend the static park is great news, however seeing a comment from yourself that just says "Meh" is rather sad, what would you say after RIAT if the Royal Navy hadn't bothered attending at all?

Frankly if they'd skipped RIAT and just put out a line saying "we're concentrating on Yeovilton" I'd have respected them somewhat.

Instead it's the biggest military airshow on the Navy's patch, and all they bother to do is send four statics, just so that they have some backdrop for the recruiting stalls. That's *using* RIAT, not contributing.

Not even the Black Cats solo. Pathetic.

So to try get away from negativity just now over on ukar someone posted a link to the Polish Mig-29 Facebook page and the announced that they will be displaying at an airshow in July so there might be a chance they will come to RIAT.

The same person also saying SU-22 fitters down for displays this season so again maybe a chance they will be at RIAT, How amazing would that be to have the Harriers, SU-27, SU-22, Mig-21 and Mig-29 all in the flying programme?

Badger sett leads to three-month Kempsford road closure.

Burrowing badgers have removed so much earth from beneath a road it has been closed due to risk of collapse.

Intensive structural repairs are needed to 150m of country lane between Kempsford and Hannington Wick in Gloucestershire.

Gloucestershire County Council said "tonnes" of earth had been removed.

Environmental laws mean officials have to wait three months before work can start to allow the badgers to vacate the area.

The council said it had called in experts and requested a licence from Natural England to start work on the un-named C road, known as the 3/171 boundary to Kempsford High Street.

The hope is to get the road re-opened in time for the annual Royal International Air Tattoo in nearby Fairford on 19-21 July.

However, law dictates the sett cannot be disturbed until 1 July at the earliest.

Nice to see the Brietling Jet Team added to the display, a slight splash of colour. I saw them at Fairford in 2014 and enjoyed their display.

This is a classic double-standards issue where suddenly there's immense primary concern for badgers near Kempsford, whilst elsewhere in the southwest they are being legally culled (possibly illegally too?) for contributing to Bovine TB.
The section of road affected by the closure doesn't form part of the public 'coloured, routes, but was a back-way into the area &/or maybe a designated Bus/VIP. route too?..Oh well!
I also find the need to ban cyclists & pedestrians from this section of roadway as overly protective of those groups & the Badgers. Clearly, the Badgers were happy in close proximity to cars, lorries & humans or they wouldn't have undermined the highway in the first case? Beyond that, if an individual can't make an assessment as to whether the road is suitable to use on a cycle or on-foot, they probably should use a Guide-dog.
