B-52s at rest....from the air

Post by PeteHemsley » Wed Apr 10, 2019 1:51 pm

afternoon all

A couple of weeks back I took my uncle for a flight around Hampshire. Since there were some "heavies" at Fairford, we decided to use this as a waypoint in hope that we would be allowed through the overhead. Permission was granted, although straight over the top with no orbits under Brize control I managed to pop off a few shots. Although our aircraft is fairly new, the windows and haze did not make easy work of it! These are purely for the record shots and nothing else.

Thanks for looking

Excellent, thanks for posting.. :thumb:
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Great photos - thank you for posting them.
Any idea of which B-52s are shown? Also what date/time photos taken - parking spots of some a/c changed between my visits on 19/03 and 04/04. Working round anti-clockwise from the top of photo, the five a/c appear to be parked on spots 51, 50, 47, 46 and 54 (may be wrong on spot numbers as no longer shown on Google earth - so corrections welcome!). Anyway, spots 54 and 47 had the same B-52s on both dates - 61-015 an 61-013 respectively.
Cheers, TM74
