It's the same every single year. You tend to find they announce a few "highlights" at the start of the year, to really sell some tickets initially. It then evens out for announcements. They then chuck in a few more stand out acts to sell tickets, you often find the best is saved till the end.

I really don't get why people are so surprised!
Thank you
Ah ok, you mean they will probably do the majority of announcements in one hit ?

No, they will spread it out each Thursday as they always have done. You may find more announcements that are "Better" for some closer to the actual show

With all that is confirmed and self confirmed I think we have about half the flying display covered, do we not?
Do you really think there's 4 hours of displays there?
I'm sorry for being a bit nieve, but I'm not sure how long each act gets allocated for there display and whether it changes for each different fast jet display and each different aerobatic teams display?

So it looked to me that we had half or nearly half a flying display.

There were over 30 flying acts the last 2 years and so far for 2019 we have 12 acts so nearly half the flying acts announced.

come on where are the fast jets which are displaying!
I agree, I remember last year there were at least half a dozen f16s, Gripens, Hornets as well as Rafael's not to mention f35s, typhoons and SU 27.

Does anyone remember if they confirmed quite late or not? I'm aware it's only Apr but with what they have confirmed so far it's a starter but not exactly the most interesting to the public with all these trainer aircraft and RIAT are aware of this. Freece Tricolori have self confirmed

We knew about the Freece Tricolori last week when they self confirmed.......

The Navy doesn't have an active squadron on F-35, so I doubt it. I was at a RAF /RN F-35B sea trials lecture last month, during lecture a demo was mentioned. Forgot to ask during the question at the end if it was happening this year, as there hasn't been any sign of a practice at Marham it's looking doubtful. Especially with 617 Sqn down to go on a deployment later this year

i just cant think of anything else we might get to see fast jet wise which is a realistic possibility! shame we are not on better terms with the Russians as i think they by far put on the best displays/manovers!

Still i'm looking forward to seeing the mig 21, harrier and the RAF typhoon is always a highlight, list gets shorter year by year!

That's the trouble with most countries opting for F-35's these days, lists get thinner and thinner. Plenty of time before July for even more updates to roll out.

There's still 14, pushing onto 15 possible updates to come (if you go by the weekly Thursday ones) and of course we know they like to throw in a few surprises. Let's have some hope :thumb:

End of the day, RIAT is only as enjoyable as you decide to make it enjoyable.

(P.S - generic comment, not aimed at anyone  )

Swedish historic flight or the Norwegian F104 would certainly cheer a few people up seeing as its a Nato anniversary..

RIAT seemed to be confirming all the boring propeller type trainers which are good to see 1 or 2 but it seems to have dominated the flying displays.

When I checked...

No Solo f16 Turk, no F16 Zeus, No f35, No Czech Gripen, no Rafael demo...... RIAT will have to do something. The public isn't interested in seeing the Blades where you see for free at Bournemouth air show 😂.

Tickets are £55 plus for his event so there has to be reasonable amount of things to see

totally agree with the above, but few of the lads have said there will be more to come, there really really has to be and it needs to have re-heat, what ever it is haha!!

And i didn't know Norway had a f104 flying, that would be epic if they got that over, that swedish historic flight would be great too, they have a viggen, bet they are loud!!
