Lets face it, not many thought the leave option would win, I voted leave but those first few results were all remain so I went to bed, when I saw the result next day I thought great lets do this. Cameron was very surprised and got out, that's when Fararge should have been our negotiator... with regard to the march Saturday were a good percentage of them, the voters who did not make the effort to vote in the referendum cause they did not think we'd vote leave, and young voters now able to vote...
As regarding a previous post MP's our there to look after their constituents affairs, and they vote on the party line unless given a free vote. I honestly think that the next election will sort the lot we have now out, if the people think its worth voting again, because of party and personel agenda's this country has become the laughing stock of the world, where as before we were the whole idea of democracy...
sorry for the rant, but this parliament well... so i'm going to watch the paint dry at least my expectations of that have not been dashed.

Come on lets all go on gov petitions site for leave with out a deal https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/229963
Alternatively, there's a petition to Revoke Article 50 and remain in the EU.
https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/241584

Nearly 5 million signatures at present.

I wonder how many signatures for either way didn't vote in the original referendum? I fully accept and support the freedom of choice to vote or not - that is the democratic way after all. However it does make me wonder what the true picture would be if everyone did vote.

I voted to leave the EU in 2016. I and my entire family still feel the same way. However I am willing to allow the exact terms of departure to the government of the day. It could range anywhere from Norway+ to WTO. I do however feel leaving with a deal is the way to go. A fair compromise to the leavers and remainers. I would personally support May's deal. However the idea of a second referendum or revoking is an insult to those who voted leave. Basically the biggest democratic mandate in our history will be discarded as the people came up with the wrong answer. I would imagine one of the reasons Brexit is taking such a long time with everything going wrong is that various remain elements in the establishment will do all they can to slow things up and betray the British people. If they can delay things for as long as possible they can wear down peoples resolve and ultimately betray the people. The establishment working against us as always!

" I would imagine one of the reasons Brexit is taking such a long time with everything going wrong is that various remain elements in the establishment will do all they can to slow things up and betray the British people". The reason its tasking so long is that it's an immense task, and this government has squandered so much time that we've run out of it. Look at all the brexit secretarys we've had. David Davis having to admit the risk assessments he said had been done actually hadn't, Domnic Raab confidently saying he could do the job then admitting he didn't realise how much freight went through Dover. The mind boggles. We've all been betrayed by Westminster, both sides putting party before country. That's what started this whole debacle in the first place.
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.

FYI,

The Government has responded to the petition you signed – “Revoke Article 50 and remain in the EU.”.

Government responded:

This Government will not revoke Article 50. We will honour the result of the 2016 referendum and work with Parliament to deliver a deal that ensures we leave the European Union.

It remains the Government’s firm policy not to revoke Article 50. We will honour the outcome of the 2016 referendum and work to deliver an exit which benefits everyone, whether they voted to Leave or to Remain.

Revoking Article 50, and thereby remaining in the European Union, would undermine both our democracy and the trust that millions of voters have placed in Government.

The Government acknowledges the considerable number of people who have signed this petition. However, close to three quarters of the electorate took part in the 2016 referendum, trusting that the result would be respected. This Government wrote to every household prior to the referendum, promising that the outcome of the referendum would be implemented. 17.4 million people then voted to leave the European Union, providing the biggest democratic mandate for any course of action ever directed at UK Government.

British people cast their votes once again in the 2017 General Election where over 80% of those who voted, voted for parties, including the Opposition, who committed in their manifestos to upholding the result of the referendum.

This Government stands by this commitment.

Revoking Article 50 would break the promises made by Government to the British people, disrespect the clear instruction from a democratic vote, and in turn, reduce confidence in our democracy. As the Prime Minister has said, failing to deliver Brexit would cause “potentially irreparable damage to public trust”, and it is imperative that people can trust their Government to respect their votes and deliver the best outcome for them.

Department for Exiting the European Union.

most MP's want to remain supporters irrespective of how their voters voted. They all live in the London political bubble away from real life. They have gone from uni into politics and then finally get a seat. they never had a real job. Hence the protest votes in USA, France, Italy and then Brexit. People want change. Drain the swamp.

Well said Redflag17. I agree 100%. Most of them have no clue as to how the average person has to live. They earn fantastic money and in my opinion only care about the rich.

Oh dear Teresa May is still relying on the DUP to get her deal through and they won't play ball. She really must be rueing the decision to call a snap general election in 2017 in which she lost a decent majority!

Careless or what?

Indicative votes : Results : No majority for any of the 8 options. :)

I know you can't swear on on here but what a bunch of feck twerps

I think Jacob Rees-Mogg is brilliant. He is a real English gentleman. Certainly more impressive than most MPs at Westminster. The next Conservative leader really needs to be from the ERG. I don't think it will be Jacob as he has said he won't be going for it sadly. But with a true Conservative in charge of the Conservative Party and a real socialist in charge of Labour we will at least have a real choice come the next election.
I think May has been far from perfect but she in my opinion is a better PM than Blair, Brown or Cameron.

A real English gentleman?? You must mean the wrong person, have you heard the stuff he says?? His views are so far in the past it wouldn't be possible to bring them up to present day.

The bloke is against same-sex marriage, thinks that women should not be allowed abortions, doesn't believe in climate change legislation, supported Trump - It would be like having Trump! He would be a disaster, but would so would Johnson. Bloke's a bigot.

Mogg really reminds me of Oswald Mosley. The fact that he's profiteering from this fiasco is a complete national betrayal and what a hypocrite, he's changed his mind more times than I've changed socks this month (daily in my case before anyone says anything smart..)
