Patches

Post by nitro999 » Fri Mar 15, 2019 9:42 pm

Whilst I was at FFD this afternoon there were a couple of guys inside the base who came up to the fence at 27 end selling patches. I didn't get a look at the patches as it was right as the B52 was on finals, and I didn't have any cash on me, but I think I overheard them say £5 for a patch. Passing on in case of interest to others as I hope they will return another day so I can have a look! A few people did buy, so I'd be interested to know what was on offer if anyone got one?

I bought a patch, which was created for Baltops 2017, the last time the 20BS was deployed to Fairford.

Wish they were £5 though!

It was a post on one of the Fairford facebook pages, if I can find it I'll post a link.

Interestingly photos of crew from the press conference shows them still wearing the old cloth version, rather than the PVC they were selling at the fence. The PVC one looks like a Bomber Patches patch, although it's not listed on his website

One of the crew saw my little 2 year old boy with me at the fence upon arrival. A short while after, he came over in a car to see my son and then handed him his patch from his arm. Great people skills and it made my son very happy!

There was a post on RAF Fairford Plane Spotters Facebook page today, saying they will be selling down the 27 end today (Wed 27th). No time was given
