That was incredible.

To be there will all those people (reported to be 10,000) on a sunny morning in Sheffield is a sight and sound I will never forget.

That missing man as well, wow, will have woken up half of Sheffield. I'll get some photos up later.

it was very fitting and Tony was suitably impressed and obviously very touched. Also, it will have done loads more in terms of positive publicity for the RAF and USAF than a million tweets or FB posts!

EDIT: And the Beeb did us proud as well!

Tony who is the sort of person who deserves an OBE. Not ponces like Andy Murray. Nobody should get an honour for something that has made them rich, but this is exactly what they should be used for!

A fantastic day for Tony, he deserves the recognition, and of course he deserves an OBE. Thanks go to the RAF, USAF and everybody involved in making this happen, Especially Dan Walker at the BBC, thanks Dan.
I hope Tony has a nice rest of the day. I wonder if he went round collecting those £10-00 ?.

What a fine Man, he thoroughly deserved the Flypast, what a fitting tribute to the 10 and all who made the ultimate sacrifice so we can lead the lives we have today. Thanks to the RAF, USAF and BBC for giving it the publicity it deserved.
Cheers.

Ok, just back.

Felt the flypast by the Americans was fantastic, and the lump i got in my throat at that wonderfully evocative F-15 pull up for the 'missing man' was heart rendingly fitting.
interesting formation undertake by the typhoons, and got a slight topside from the herc and osprey as they banked away.

Having names on each 15 was a great touch, and they were visible through the 300 prime lens i had up front.

Truly and rightly an American show, and very well done too. Guys and Galls of the USAF, if your reading this, you did Tony and your fallen comrades proud, and you can puff out your chests a little further this weekend at a job very well done indeed.

Cheers
Dave

A well deserved tribute to the American B-17 crew & Tony for his work in looking after the memorial. Does anyone know what the serial numbers and callsign of the F-15 formation was?

What a wonderful tribute.
If anybody has any doubts about our 'special' friendship with the USA, then look no further.
Well done to all involved and especially Tony.Top man.9

Also, this is quite a contrast to the shameful event at Kleine Brogel earlier in the week. I hope those young ladies see this and feel thoroughly ashamed of themselves, though I somehow doubt it.
