With only 17 flyables left ,my arithmetic tells me some detached ones need to rtb to ensure spare cover on the day.

It was reported on the 31st January somewhere, can't remember where, that the Tornado carried out the last operational sortie on that day, so would expect them to return soon if that is the case.

It has been posted in the Military Aviation section of PPRuNe that the last Op Shader sortie has been flown by Tornado and the aircraft will return to Marham this week.

When they arrive back from Shader most if not all will be the last time they fly so we will be down to 9 maybe 10 airframes soon.

28th is still a very valid possibility, and this may not be all of the dates...there could me more planned. You can only fit 240 characters into one tweet, so you never know.

Sometimes, you just have to go with the info you've got available, till it becomes concrete.

I 'think' these are in addition to the local 9 ship on the 28th.

Sounds like these will be smaller formations visiting various locations.
