CH-47 apparently in a damaged condition - so to Boeing at either Boscombe Down or Fleetllands for repair?

If it was going to Boscombe, wouldn't they fly it into there on the C-17 rather than Fairford? Not saying that isn't what is happening but it would make more sense if it was!
Cheers

Looking at the lack of Friday NOTAMs I think the U-2 crews are pulling the old 'fly into the Cotswolds midweek and go tech ready for a weekend stay' chestnut ;)

Not that I know too much about this but why wouldn't it go back to Boeing for repairs, seems odd to bring it here, or have I missed something?
Always learning.

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Not with the eastbound that aborted Wed & is going out on ops me thinks . As for the westbound(s) going home (one still to come presumably once 1094 gets away) well thats a different matter .

There is a newish Boeing service centre at Boscombe for our Chinooks.

Personally I'm not convinced it was damaged, just looked like the front and rear pylons were removed, as is usual for transport

I'm no expert on this, but it looks as if the upper rear fuselage isn't very healthy.

Looks like the back end has sustained damage. Lots of scorching and jagged metal on show.

Quite right - damage caused by rotor blade of another Chinook apparently.

That Chinook is a bit of a mystery. Anyway, short clip of Dragon 31's arrival on Thurs loaded onto Video Section.

Having seen that now yes, I'd agree!
