Or will the 493rd come back first? They are only out there for two more weeks.

Baz - You won't get a NOTAM for few support aircraft, there will be just a standard Flight plan.

But there has to be incoming support for the F.35's basics like spare nose wheels, main wheels, jacks, engine blanks, specific oils etc etc ... In the old days some popular spares were always permanently stored at bases "down route".

When I was on C-130's there was always an engine, prop and main wheel kept in Cyprus and Goose Bay, nowadays air forces (Including the US) can't afford to keep spares on the shelf away from base - a sign of the times.

The support for the F 22s a few years back arrived after the F 22s

Could spares be used from Marham?

The RAF aircraft are Bs and the USAF are As - the original F35 concept was that the three variants would have a high degree of commonality, in practice they are very different. So, I'm not sure the spares at Marham would be that useful even if they are able to be used

I doubt it very much, there are country / manufacture agreements about sharing spares. Diverted into an ANG C-130J base in Maryland a few years ago with an RAF J and we need a very common and cheap part. The guard guys gave it to us but we had to reject it because Lockheed Martin said no ... :@

It then took 4 more days to get the spare from the UK in an A5 Jiffy bag! :(

Bonus 3 days of East coast spotting

No straw available ... it's been taken for the manger. It's that time of year

Back in September, Trump stated that Europe would see some 5th Gen fighters deployed "very soon".

We got them........the 6x "FF" Raptors, extending their return from the sandpit.

There has been no evidence to show they were ever coming in the first place, just unfounded speculation.

Shame. A nice little deployment and back in time for Christmas would be a nice way to round off the year.
