Nice bit of visitor action for you guys down there. Re first pic, did those aircraft just bomb a paint factory, and that one fly through the smoke cloud.

Great shots.

Makes me jealous living in Manchester as we get nothing like that up here.

could have done! It wasn't until I looked at the pic on my PC that I realised the whole upper surface is painted as part of the scheme as well, somebody got a bit carried away :)

I heard a rumour that Lakenheath could paint one up to commemorate an anniversary or similar?

That's quite a scheme- dare I say a bit too much?! Excellent shots, great work.
I couldn’t agree with any more. I don’t understand why there so over the top. These schemes should be for special events and only temporary. I feel sorry for the guy flying it when going up against a MIG etc. in a real situation .
But great shots none the less
Do you honestly think that is likely to happen?? And if it did what the hell difference would this paint scheme make to any engagement, which would likely be BVR anyway :S

p.s. BVR = Beyond Visual Range.

Great photos, especially that first one!

Lakenheath and Mildenhall this October really have been very good indeed.

Couldn't agree more, great images and fabulous colour (color) scheme, and so it should be, a celebration of a great anniversary.
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

I Think he will be more concerned about the calls on guard of "who's a pretty boy then?", then looking out for whoever is about to drop on his tail in a friendly bit of ACM. Then the ribbing back in the bar . . .

Hi Andy,

Great photos, did you take some more photos from the other F15's of the 144rd Fighter Wing.
Hope you post them also. I collect photos of the F15's of the ANG.

After spending 20 years in the USAF I know all the ancronmins. They are there for a TSP not for your private airshow. These are warbirds serving a purse. And bright yellow ac doesn't serve that purpose. Maybe I'm old fashion but that's what I believe. And not all fights are missile kills. Unless. Your in the RAF where some Jets don't even have guns

there are a few more in my flickr album Peter, and I've still got a lot of unedited ones on my PC - a time (or lack thereof) seems to be an issue at present.
I put 2 of each aircraft in the flickr album for my October 2018 aircraft : https://www.flickr.com/photos/125470545 ... 1900327324 , the last ones as I filed them in date taken order. Some others from the same day also there (F.22s etc - which were a bit poor because of their own heat haze).
