ZA585/054 arrived at Cosford this afternoon

A "new" grey GR1 appeared outside on October 9th, presumably to make space for the GR4s. By the 11th I could read the XV Squadron mark from the train but the top section of the tail was missing. I went had a look today from the car park near Cosford Station and off the platform and the section of tail showing TTV has been fitted and ZA357 was readable off the side. It joins other GR1s ZA320 (camo) and ZA323 (grey) (both of which have no tail section or squadron marks that I could see) and are parked in the area next to the Red Car Park. Sadly the GR4s must be tucked away in the big hangar near the car park as some Tonkas were visible through the windows.

The 3 Gr1s were pulled out of that hangar, the Avionics hangar and have been replaced with the 2 new Gr4s. As soon as the tails and tailerons were on the GR4s were taken straight into the hangar

How is the Tornado fleet looking at the moment, is there still 21 flying, when is the cut off date for them to go out of service. Only reason I ask is I have been away from the UK for 10 years and coming back next August.

ZG752 - RAF 100 markings
ZG771 - Marham centenary marks (black spine, fin and radome).

ZA612 - standard grey scheme.

From what I can tell ZG752 and ZG771 are practically hangar queens at this point. 771 pops out occasionally and 752 hasn’t been seen for a few months, at least not by those of us outside the fence!! :-)

ZG752 last flew on 16th October according to reports
