Cold War Jets - Rain and Flame

Post by hawgwash » Wed Aug 29, 2018 8:06 pm

Hope I'm posting these in the right place. Living in Texas it was a huge treat to be in the UK for the Cold War Jets day at Bruntingthorpe last weekend. I had a blast except the rain tried hard to ruin it, I'm glad I stayed around to the end as the rain quit in time for the Victor. The rain did make for some interesting photographs though; a tornado forming by the Victor intake was cool. Apart from the Lightning flames, JP XM365 had what looked to be a minor hydraulic leak by the brakes which caught fire.

Great time, I think I enjoyed it more than RIAT!!!

Wow... I`m sure most would agree, that we would much prefer the sun to be shining on these kind of events but then you would not have got these kind of atmospheric shots.

They are superb... love all of them but the first is amazing and I love the Victor shot... hope there wasn`t any damage to the JP... looks like the brakes got a bit hot there.

Thanks for sharing these with us.

Loving those Bricks (Tyke for Buccaneers) in the wet esp the Navy one which looks quite at home. Think you got lucky with the weather. It's about the first rain we've had this summer.
