The Dutch F16s were calling POLLY21 not NAF322 as the list states.

UK military serials are kept on the Military Aircraft Register
The quote below is taken from the appropriate legislation.

Military ►Air System◄ Registration
1120(1) All UK ►military Air Systems◄ shall be registered on the
UK Military Aircraft Register (MAR).

So it's a matter of choice wether serial or registration is used.

Tony

You are lucky to be able to open that link at all!
cant open on either mobile or conputer.

Get a message saying "This site can't provide a secure connection... www.threshold.aero uses an unsupported protocol".

I guess a separate list of Thursday's arrivals with serials (or registrations..that old chestnut again) would take too long to post on here.

Cheers All

Ukrainina IL76 is airborn with SU27. IL76 is displayed on fr24 https://www.flightradar24.com/1d18f032
same 3 aircraft as last year unless Borts been changed on Su-27s! how many serviceable jets do the Ukrainians have? obviously not many..unless these ones have specific fits for operating outside Ukraine?? Think this is the 3rd time the Il-76 has been to RIAT!

Been to Myrhorod last year and they have for about 15-20 active aircraft. Only 4 are NATO aproved for outside Ukraine, thats why. Don't know about the IL76 tho, as there is also one with yellow on it which comes to other shows.

ASY 262 E-7A Wedgetail A30-001 just passing over Southern Ireland at FL 300. Should be at FFD in about 30 minutes.

PS I thought that because these Su-27s were "shepherded" by the Il-76 that negated a NATO radio /transponder fit etc. hence more chance of different airframes being used. Obviously not!

According to the commentary these SU-27s underwent modernisation in 2012 and part of that involved western compatible transponders.

A different twin stick i believe?

7

Edit, tell a lie. It is the same 3. Sometimes google is not your friend! Still, better to see the same ones twice than never see another again, no?

Completely agree with seven here. Last year it was the closing act on Sunday with very low cloud and rain and this year I’m looking forward to a full display (knock on wood). Personally I wouldn’t care if they attended for the next 10 years with the same three aircraft!

Agreed, its nice to see them rather than not but believe it or not, some spotters like to see different airframes in addition to getting lots of digital images of same aircraft. Pity ay least one of the other NATO compatible airframes couldnt have made it. Cant please everyone all of the time..Guess a trip to Ukraine is required.. :(

The Black & Yellow Helicopter should have been EC135 G-CHSU which arrived at 09.26 and departed at 18.14 according to :- https://threshold.aero/data/RIAT18-Live-Arrivals
The list mentions the Puma, but not the serial.
