As a non-rugby and non-football fan, being English and living in Wales is very difficult. In the run upto any international fixture all I get is "We're gonna beat you!" etc etc. Then after the match where England more often than not seem to win I get a load of grief for that too. So no matter who plays both before and after the match its annoying as hell.

Therefore I try to take the independent non-caring position - and want everyone to loose or be out so I hear as little about it as possible.

And I'm not aware I ever said I don't like ladders. For gay people with bad knees ladders are probably a god send.

Not a huge football fan but I watched the Russia V Egypt game last night to see what all the fuss was about Mo Farrah. He may be able to run, but I wasn't at all impressed by his ball skills!! :S

Not a watcher but following on BBC website - I know it's "only" Panama but 5-0 by half-time!

Although Panama may not be the greatest team in the world England can only beat the teams put in front of them. The difference with this team is the football is enjoyable to watch. I use to go and watch England home games until the mid 2000s and after the 2010 world cup I gave up completely. Couldn't even be bothered to read the reports in the paper. It was like the players could not be bothered so why should I. This world cup I've just started to watch them again and I like the way they are playing and some of the best set play routines I've seen England play out. The true test to see how far we come will be on Thursday against Belgium.

First 45mins of the England v Belgium game, nothing aspiring really.
Logistically, if we win, we have the tougher route ahead, so not winning wouldn't be too bad...
Wouldn't question anyone's professional integrity as a foreign manager, but consider these options:
1. Belgian Goalkeeper makes a "horrendous error" and the ball goes into the net and gifts the win to England.
2. Belgium score an own goal and gift the win to England.
Maybe I'm too naive in my youth

Really annoys me that the talking heads are discussing which team would be preferable for England to meet in the quarter finals I.e avoiding Brazil. Disrespectful to Japan and Colombia.

If you want to be World champion you should be able to take on anyone not pick and choose to win and get there by luck. Get on with it and play the game!
