I have two business. One is electrical contracting and the other is sell part for old and obsolete for fuse boards. My wife advertised the parts business on Facebook and nothing came of it. She has also give my details out for the contracting business. It's only ever small work that is talked about and still nothing comes of it. I think people looking for goods and services on Facebook want it for next to nothing.

I can definitely recommend Wordpress, although you will have to pay small amounts to get the most out of it (I really mean small amounts, to have a .com address is only around £9 a year.).

It is a very versatile platform for, well, pretty much any purpose. I also know of Joomla and a few others whose names escape me, but they are a bit more technical and harder to get on with.

Twitter is also good, but the biggest battle is to gain enough followers to properly expand your outreach. If used well with a good amount of followers it can work wonders.

Yes it shows up in your address, however you can have a custom one without it for around £9 a year, which is about the normal price for a URL
