As a 10th anniversary treat we are off to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix

We're staying at the Woodlands campsite in our camper from Wednesday afternoon until Monday morning
The ticket we have gives us a seat in the Abbey Grandstand for the race on Sunday and access to any other stand/viewing area at all other times.

I know there are many F1 fans here, so does anyone have any advice on where we should go to view the support, practice and qualifying races.
Hopefully over the 3 days we can go to several spots to get the most out of our long weekend.

Woodlands is an excellent Campsite with a great atmosphere and plenty of entertainment laid on for campers , I will also be there from Wednesday to Monday and don't care what the weather is ........the Petrolhead will always be open.... Trackside the place to go as a firstimer during any F1 practice or quali is Maggotts , Becketts corners (try to get there early to grab a spot on the fence ) and stand with your back facing Copse corner , this is to calibrate the brain to the speed and downforce of an F1 Car..... Try different Grandstands on your Roaming ticket on Friday and Saturday but on Quali day International Pit Straights and Abbey fill up early followed by Club corner.....then Stowe ,Luffield and Copse if you can see a Tv . Take a personal radio each with earbuds and listen to 5Live or Silverstone on 87.7fm ......enjoy

many thanks, for the replies.

Great info Hayzi, we are the same, do not care too much if it rains, we always holiday in the UK in our camper and are well prepared for any weather.
Thanks for the insider knowledge.

We went to the Friday practice last year & walked round the entire circuit watching from all locations, thats how I would spend the day on the Friday when you go.

Take clothing & footwear for all weathers, be prepared! Last year on the Friday it was wet wet wet & very very muddy, it absoloutely threw it down. Still enjoyed the day though  .

Great advice - many thanks, I think we'll do exactly that, try to get around the circuit on the Friday to get a feel for it all, then a few selected spots for Saturday.

Our camper is equipped for holidaying in the UK, so we'll be ready for anything the weather can throw at us, I think it safe to leave the snow chains at home though :D
