This is extremely sad news, and probably very sad circumstances. He wasn't a fine actor [no offence Blackcat]. He was a GREAT actor!. Definitely a great favourite with me. For me his best performance was in 'The Firm'. As far as I'm concerned, his acting was faultless. I hope all their passings were painless and peaceful.

BAT.21, the Firm, the Birdcage (hilarious!), the French connection - a few of my all time favourite films. Couple months ago remember seeing a picture of him out and about with his wife, he had changed. Initially didn’t think it was him.
A great actor who had always delivered.
Going to dig out a few of his DVD’s, pour a whiskey, and thank the man.

Don't forget Mississippi burning . Watched it last night , hadn't seen it for years. Brilliant acting . Going to watch Runaway Jury tonight as Hackman & Hoffman are 2 of my favourite actors.

Definitely one of my favourite actors - if he was in it then I wanted to see it
Great as Popeye Doyle in the French connection " do you pick your feet in Poughkeepsie" Mad!
He was 95 - a great age you would give your right arm for

All a bit strange as it is being suggested that he and his wife had been dead for about 10 days before their bodies were found.

Depends if it was a rural or urban area and they might have valued their privacy but I would have thought they would have had a cleaner in more than once a fortnight. I would put Crimson Tide among the ones I liked best.

Should have said there was a bit on the tele after the Trump trump this morning and the local police chief admitted they were struggling .

The cause of deaths has been announced and its all looks very tragic with the wife having died from natural causes a week before Gene Hackman and he suffering from advanced dementia was probably unaware of this and unable to fend for himself. As mentioned already surprised they had no home helps or other people around.
