Morning all,
Not sure where to post this (mods please feel free to move if you can find somewhere more appropriate )
Now I finally have the time and earnings to invest in flight training. I was originally planning on getting my PPL, but somebody mentioned to that LAPL may be better suited. LAPL seems a bit limited with only a few qualifications added on.
Big Q: is it worth getting an LAPL or just go for the PPL with more training and have more freedom of choice afterwards?
Very new to this whole idea so appreciate any help from anyone who's done it plan to fly from my local club about twise a week for work.
KR
Edit: obviously my decisions will be based on research and advise from instructor etc. to anyone who things that I will decided based on an FC thread! Just looking for advice
Did you know that registration to Fighter Control is completely free and brings you lots of added features? Find out more....

Re: PPL Vs LAPL
What are your requirements?
If it's single engine, to and from somewhere in the UK (and Europe) .... LAPL will do just fine (should also be cheaper and quicker to achieve)..
If you ever have the ambition to fly outside of Europe, or bigger planes, inside UK and around the world, you'll need the PPL.
Nothing stopping you doing LAPL, and upgrading to PPL as required.

I did the PPL over 30 years ago (when that was all there was) and it was a great experience, if you can I would do the full PPL as the extras were not that much of a challenge (although there is the added expenses of course).
Before doing anything though I would get your medical sorted, just incase there are any surprises that prevent you completing the training.
Re: PPL Vs LAPL
Thanks both for great advice, think I will go for PPL as multi engine may be needed at some point in the future.
Thanks re advise on medical, will definitely do that.
