Got a we have tried to take money from your bank twice email from scammer today.Warns me of the fines etc and then says to click the PAY NOW link.Didnt even look remotely authentic.

The wife has had this same email today and also a few days ago. Her car tax is £0 and is due to be renewed in October. Obviously they're phishing.

Yeah mine was paid up and next one not due for a while.I would think it would be easy to panic though.

They work on a percentage of success where anyone clicking the link provided will probably download a virus that sits there and logs all of your online activity, collecting banking details and other important information that they can exploit. The less sophisticated ones just ask directly for your payment details hoping you'll fall for it.
