Hi all,

Whilst having my lunch at work today I parked my van facing a high-speed railway line (Bathley Lane, Notts) and had a great time watching the trains fly through. I'm not interested in registrations of the trains but I kept thinking "I wonder where that one is going".

This got me thinking. Is there a train equivalent of FlightRadar or ADSB etc where I could look them up and see where they were going?

When you click on some of the names in blue i.e. station or major junctions it brings up a timetable. Trains with white headcode can be clicked on too although not always accurate.

I work in the rail industry and I can tell you that these are pretty much the same as the systems we use. Although a lot of people actually prefer using realtime trains to our industry system as the user interface is simple and straightforward. The industry system (called TRUST) is based on a piece of software from the 1960s so while it gets the job done it can be a bit annoying to use.
