Good Day all

I have a 5 day camping trip planned with the wife, starting this sunday at Willows campsite. Along with Mildenhall, we also plan to visit Lakenheath, armed with my camera.

I'd like to seek assistance from local's on what other places of interest there are in the area?

I like my photography, though pretty pants at it, and have seen Lakenheath Fen RSPB Reserve so thats one idea for me. We both also have an interest in anything military related but open to other suggestions for days out.

Some people have suggested Trip Advisor, though nothing of real interest comes up (maybe I'm searching from wrong location).

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

If I had to spend some time not plane spotting I would go to lackford lakes to see the kingfishers then carry on into Bury st Edmonds ( A1101) but to be honest I'd rather just sit at Lakenheath incase the A4 Skyhawk goes out !
I hope you have a good time down here whatever you choose to do.
Dave.
Edit for spelling

If you're a fan, there is the Dad's Army museum in Thetford.

A little bit further afield, Marham aviation heritage centre is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. The National Trust's Oxburgh Hall is between Lakenheath and Marham if thats of interest.

Sid.

100th Bomb Group museum at Thorpe Abbots is well worth a visit and is just down the road from the Flixton musuem that was mentionef earlier. The 100th BG eventually became the 100th ARW that flies the Mildenhall KC-135s.

Two hours drive from EGUN is Coningsby where there's the chance of some action and a guided tour around the BBMF is exceptional.
