Glad I've got my ticket for the 1st day at Old Trafford. 1st test match in 20 years.

My shift pattern has screwed me over this year and I’m on shift for most of the Tests from memory. Will have to see what holidays I have left and what tickets are still available

About one month to go and Jimmy Anderson has suffered a ‘mild groin strain’

Looking forward to this. Has anyone had a chance to watch Steve Smith playing in England yet?

England test squad announced

England squad: Ben Stokes (Durham captain), James Anderson (Lancashire), Jonny Bairstow (Yorkshire), Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire), Harry Brook (Yorkshire), Zak Crawley (Kent), Ben Duckett (Nottinghamshire), Dan Lawrence (Essex), Jack Leach (Somerset), Ollie Pope (Surrey), Matthew Potts (Durham), Ollie Robinson (Sussex), Joe Root (Yorkshire), Chris Woakes (Warwickshire), Mark Wood (Durham).

Archer is very unfortunate - travelled for the cash at the IPL and came back with a stress fracture.

Anderson (40) and Broad (37) seem to be going on forever (no IPL for Anderson) , Woakes back. Bairstow returns from a broken leg Stokes is always an injury worry. Zack Crawley gets another go and you have to have Harry Brook in the squad although there is now greater expectation and therefore pressure on him.

Ollie Robinson having a scan on his ankle. Hopefully nothing serious and no more injuries scares before the Ireland Test

Very much missed no test in May. Christ they are packed in this year, I'm sure the norm when I was young was a test every other weekend, now they have one gap of over a week in the whole series! It's going to be intense!

That is serious

What other Slow left arm is there? Although the Aussie team have strong left handed batters so may not be the end of the world ! Perhaps a good time to pick a leg break bowler:- Adil Rashid ?

Can't see Stokes bowling much

Must win or not the lose the first match so strongest bowling partnership

Pace
Anderson
Broard ?
Wood
Robinson

Spin
???

Taken from the Barny Army Facebook page
🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨

Moeen Ali seriously considering return to England Test team following injury to Jack Leach, as per the Cricketer.
Hopefully Stokes sees the big picture and doesn’t try and do everything and injury himself
