Russian and Belarusian drivers can compete as neutrals.... That seems pretty spineless to me and doesn't bode well for applying the new rules that have been brought in this year...
I agree, it still allows these millionaire drivers to feed western money into their home countries - why hold them to a different standard.
Disgusting and spineless, they haven't got the minerals, no point having any rules really.
It's as bad as having the ROC at The Olympics, ridiculous.. :S

So it looks like Portugal for the race to replace Sochi from what I was just reading, Turkey and Germany are also options.

I don't think we'll see Mazepin race. Daddy pays sponsership and salary. Branding is off the car already, are Haas allowed to receive funds from him now ? Regardless he won't be paying without his branding on the car I assume. They have Fittipaldi in reserve.

Mazepin has been banned from taking part in any event in UK. No great loss in two ways, one he is Russian and two he must be the most useless driver we have had in F1 for many a year.

Bit harsh, I mean he did finish 21st out of 20 regular drivers but he was 3rd in F3 Asia in '19 and 5th in F2 in '20 so he's not a total disaster. I don't like the idea of pay drivers but from what i understand without the money from Mick's sponsors and Nikita's dad there was no Haas last year.

I agree He certainly showed promise in the lower formulae. I think Haas will drum up enough sponsorship from the States to be able to continue [I hope}

I think all sporting bodies need to start 'singing from the same hymn sheet' as it were, IPC have reversed their decision and banned Russian and Belarus athletes from Winter Paralympics..

F1 have now completely pulled their Russian contract and are set to not race in Russia for a long time.

But don't worry - Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia are all fine... :S

I see the latest is Pietro Fittipaldi to HAAS to take over from Nikita

Maybe F1 have a threshold on how many people you can kill before you get banned? :S

Makes sense, to be honest. He got the seat because he bought Uralkali to HAAS with their millions, but now they're gone he doesn't bring any money now.

Good point James, and apparently he is a Russian Army Officer in training, not sure how true that is though 🤔

Haas are considering their own reserve driver, Fittipaldi along with Piastri and Daruvala. Whilst I have nothing against the other two I'd ,love to see the seat go to Piastri. He was F2 Champ last year so can't compete in that Formula this year. The rule that should see him pushed up to F1 has left him without a drive, just Alpine reserve.
Formula Renault Champ 2019
F3 Champ 2020
F2 Champ 2021
He deserves a drive.

Piastri!. I couldn't agree more!!. I realised, like you, that when he was in his early days in F. 3 that here was a very good driver in the making. I feel we are not wrong in our assessment.

Imola to remain on the calender til 2025.

I'm sure one day they will shock us and sign a race worthy circuit...

Monaco is the one I really struggle to watch - never did understand why Ch4 chose that one for live coverage when they were restricted to 6? live races - possibly because half the cometary team live there. I accept it's a supreme challenge of driver concentration keeping the car out of the barriers for 70 odd laps, but it ain't really a race.

In no particular order, Canada, Belgium, Japan & Silverstone are the ones I go out of my way to see live (on TV). USA CoTA is probably the best of the new ones. The rest - meh.
