Bit of a car crash interview, he has certainly lost the plot in my opinion, well he lost it many years ago I reckon; he is a total irrelevance to F1 now anyway, why 'they' wanted his opinion on anything is strange.. :Wow:
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

If he carries on in that groove, he’ll end up as big a pariah as Max Moseley :grr:

In truth, Max Mosley did a huge amount of successful work for F.1 and motor racing in particular. Although a friend of B. Ecclestone, they never really worked together. Yes, his sex life was sordid but not illegal, but that was, and should have been, kept private. He successfully sued over that affair. His struggles with J.M. Balestre were pretty epic, and he came out on top. [Fortunately]. Motor Sport has a lot to thank him for. His life makes interesting reading. He shot himself when diagnosed with terminal cancer. He was 81.

Good performance by Mercedes today, tho' I suspect Red Bull are sandbagging to some extent. Tomorrow should be interesting !.

Great result for Carlos, hope he can convert it to a win, Lewis did ok but sadly I think he will struggle in the race, Lando too will have a testing time I fear, but lets hope for a good exciting race :thumb:

Anyone sat in the grandstand at turn 1 probably needs a change of underwear.

Also, if race control are happy to bend the rules to alter championship results then they should be fine to bend them to allow a badly damaged car to take the restart :pop:

Indeed, what a race.

And notice Leclerc making the point I made last year, carrying more speed around the outside of copse. (And not turning in on a driver you know is there!)

Great entertainment. Lewis loves a fight and is at his best when coming from behind. Realistically tho, Mercedes are getting better places because of other drivers problems. Still need to find more straight line speed. Seven, I disagree with your last sentence....sorry.

Watching on television for the last three days, I found it hard to believe that the spectators were SOooooooo far away from the action. Huge amounts of money to see cars from a distance!!. I know it's connected with safety etc., but it bears little resemblance to the closeness one could get in the days of Hill, Clark, Stewart et al....

Did you miss that whole accident on lap 1??? That car wasn't stopping any time soon yet that area was very far from the corner.

I was at club last year. You aren't actually that far away. Cameras can give false perspective, some areas yes you are far away.

I have to say I agree there. Lewis' comments reflected that, Charles deserved much more from Ferrari, driving with a broken front wing and some fantastic defensive moves and attacking. Checo, Charles and Lewis was a great fight.

Verstappen vs Schumacher just goes to show his tactics is squeeze everyone off the track...so poor.

For those older ones amongst us, some sad news. Alain de Cadanet has died. Very much a larger than life character back in the day, and father of the model Amanda de Cadanet. Aviation guys will remember him from the Duxford broadcast about the Spitfire, where, as he stands in front of the camera, unknown to him, Stephen Gray? is winding up a Spitfire behind him at the other end of the airfield, and nearly takes Alain's head off. It was a classic!!. 1996. A great all round good bloke, he was.

My first thought having seen the replays of the crash at the time was shared on the thread. My first thoughts having seen the photograph of Zhou stuck in the car behind the barriers were, if there was a major fire he'd be dead now. (Swiftly followed by wouldn't it have been better to try to help than take photos....)
Having watched the above footage again, and seeing how close the catch fence is to the crowd, any major fire there would have resulted in burns or worse to the crowd aswell. To summarise, that barrier can't stay there.
