Just reading on the web that Janice Long has passed away
The female equivalent and equal of John Peel for people of my age

I did a job for Janice some years ago, she lived on Swanshurst Lane, Moseley, Birmingham at the time, didn't realise who it was at first until she spoke, the voice was easily recognisable, real nice Lady.

So sad to hear of her death, she was a great DJ on Radio 1 in the early days and helped to promote lots of bands much like the great John Peel did.
She was Keith Chegwin's older sister, he passed away four years ago.

I also saw that sad news
Way too young to go.
She was up there with Annie Nightingale for me.
PS just read on wiki that her brother was Keith Chegwin
