Post by C24 » Tue Jul 13, 2021 7:07 am

On yesterday’s Forces news

From Goodwood. A film of the “RAF lightning Rally Team”.

Large crowd.

There's no "go-round" in a glider.

My original post was…

the “RAF lightning Rally Team”

Quite what happened when I posted it ! Predictive typing and not picking up MY mistake. Serves me right for being pompous

It was not ME. I just happened again!

LightnEning on its own

It's one of the words that Admin have added to the Word Censoring application on the forum, it changes the wrong spelling of the aircraft to the correct spelling.
That's why you never see 'hangar' spelt incorrectly on here (so many people think it's spelt the same way as something that you hang clothes from).

Does that mean in the maybe unlikely, event that you want to use the word hangar (with an 'e') it will be changed?

Let's see...submit...

...well that proves it. Better get a thesaurus

Stansted is another one, try spelling it with 'stead' instead of 'sted' at the end.

Interesting, thanks

Forces TV had misspelt the word to include an E as in light En ing.

FC has not replaced it on one instance in my post.

My original was as you posted and also as one of my attempts which is above without any gaps

lightning. Is with capital e and lowercase n but posts as lightning, not light ening without a space

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

When one is digging a hole for oneself, it is always a good idea to have a well prepared exit strategy. Not the case here

I think the op was about a media company spelling lightning as light ening

But now we seem to be on chopper innuendo which I must admit is always good for a laugh
