The true price to be paid by the people of this country for Brexit, for years to come, long after BoJo has scuttled off to rake in the wonga making speech after speech peddling lie after lie about the glorious future that awaits this country as part of a New Dawn that is sure to be their 'reward' for allowing themselves to be taken in by the jibber-jabber, flim-flam and bullsh*t of a man who truly believes himself to be the modern-day incarnation of Winston Churchill - or should that be Moses leading his people to the Promised Land?Philly1971 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 1:45 pmYes costs will go up, but we can’t keep paying people a pittance to do essential work.

The Esso garage near Folly rd has petrol but I couldn't be arsed to queue. Still nothing at Brandon.

Re: Fuel prices
Was lucky last night, coming back from Holbeach range we hit the Shell garage on the A17 at West Lynn. They had received fuel the previous night. Had no queue, just drove straight to a pump and filled up. At least I can get the hire car back to Waltham Abbey now!
Re: Fuel prices
Apparently before Brexit 11% of HGV drivers in the UK were from the EU - this has reduced, but just to 10% so not too significant a reduction?

Managed to fill up with only a short queue - still nothing in Brandon unless they ran out again.
Re: Fuel prices
got fuel in Asda yesterday, in and out in 10 mins or so.... only realised at the pump all they had was E10 ....
pumps capped at £30 per fuel, didn't stop people filling up jerry cans anyway

all that. Madness all round but do we have too.
Troops coming in. As a tax payer, why should my Pongo help a private company
make profit ???

It's because they're idiots!
Re: Fuel prices
Because the media keep reporting it. Navigation app Waze added fuel availability to their notifications, PRA keeping banging on about things not getting better. So many agendas at play that we’re doomed.
Re: Fuel prices
The garages have got this wrong. Instead of limiting people to '£30 only' at the pumps, they should specify a MINIMUM of £30 only, to stop these people coming in for the odd 2 gallons. People will then come in only when they need it, and like the States, pay you're money before you can pump!.

Re: Fuel prices
Well said, it should be a minimum of £30 spend at the pumps, and no cans to be filled, the legal amount of fuel you can store is 30 litres in an approved container and in cool conditions without sources of ignition
Re: Fuel prices
My brother who is HGV trained (retired) got a letter the other day from DVLA asking if he would like to do a bit of driving due to the 'crisis' and effects of Covid
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!
Re: Fuel prices
I am afraid I must disagree. A maximum of £30 yes, that would help to reduce the greed of some; a minimum of £30 will only serve to make the supply run out again.Mike Bridge wrote: ↑Fri Oct 01, 2021 7:32 amWell said, it should be a minimum of £30 spend at the pumps, and no cans to be filled, the legal amount of fuel you can store is 30 litres in an approved container and in cool conditions without sources of ignition
