Absolutely!!. I decided two years ago that I now longer needed 'artificial aids] to enjoy myself. My life is and has been exciting enough without that [lucky me]. What an awful lot of people don't realise is that alcohol is, in reality, a depressant. Having seen a not close family member go down the alcoholic route, to eventual suicide, I an not a fan of alcohol. However, I am not even attempting to be moralistic here. It's your choice to live your live how you wish. As Blackcat says, moderation.......in all things. Enjoy life!.

Not meant as a lesson. Just relating experience is all.

I would be more than happy to pay way more than average for my pint in any pub as long as it keeps the undesirables, imbeciles, and moaners away. The best thing about the smoking ban is it puts them all outside for all visitors to see. Before deciding to enter, a quick adding up of the tattoos on show usually means let’s move on to the next pub.

Some of the nicest people I've ever met are covered in tattoos, rather sweeping statement

What Rubbish you write! How dare you put words in my mouth , I like an alternative view , I don't like being preached too that's all.

I get not everyone drinks , most people don't. I was simply saying that beer prices are rising faster than inflation and people come and say they are better than me because they don't drink. I am talking about social drinking by the way.

At no point, in any post in this thread, has anyone said or implied that they are better than you! But on pretty much every occasion someone makes a point that presents a different or contradictory view, you take it as a personal attack

Your very first post in this thread suggested ' I had a word with myself' and now you say ' he doesn't like that'

I was merely trying to start a light hearted banter about rising beer prices

If I came a across a vegan bemoaning the rising price of tofu recipes I wouldn't chip in and say I can eat meat because I have front incisor teeth and therefore don't care about meat substitutes.

I apologize to raptor as I suggested he was moralising , fair enough.

I can feel a beer coming on!

Edit a better metaphor would be cigarette prices - I would not involve my self in a price discussion because I don't smoke fags and therefore have no useful input

Slogen. I always enjoy banter with you. and never regard it as anything else. I am far to old a hand to get upset much these days. As you will undoubtedly have noticed, I enjoy an alternative view too!. C'mon peeps! Don't take life too seriously. :)
