Discussing other teams, no problem.

Just cut & pasted this off BBC text to make you think.

'France drawing with Hungary is a bad result for England. The 2nd place team in Group F will play England. France has 4pts, if Portugal beat Germany France will finish 2nd in group & play England in knock out stage.'

If a team is good enough they will win against any side. Why do some always want an "easy" way through? England are not through yet.

Fair comment, gmc007 :thumb:

Still think I have more chance of being Pope Paddy 1st than Scotland progressing ;)

A bright start? Think that was the floodlights 👹 There should have been only one winner and they were not wearing white. Still the world number one team are quietly progressing
If you mean Belgium, they overly rely on Chelsea reject Dr Bruyne

You can get 50/1 for Wales to reach the final
Hmm, Belgium 3 Russia 0 played last Saturday and we relied so much on De Bruyne that he did not even play. There are also the other ex Chelsea men Thibaut Courtois, Eden and Thorgan Hazard, Michi Batshuayi and Romelu Lukaku.

Seconded.
England will have to ignite their afterburners to have any chance of clearing the fence line.

How do you come to that conclusion without knowing where England will finish in their group? They could finish in second or even third place.

Can't understand why Scotland were so jubilant about a nil-nil draw?
Probably because apparently we were only going to be shooting practice for you boys as our football is so bad up here, predictions of 3 and 4 nil seemed to be the order of the day.

Admittedly I did think England would win 2-0 or 2-1 not because I have anything against Scotland, I just don't think they have a very good football team. Neither do England it would seem but there is always another match/Saturday.

Wales like Scotland jubilant about a mediocre result but it's all about getting through to the knockout stages where there is no hiding place but anything can happen - Greece 2004 champions.

Gareth Bale - big name - should have hit the target with that unmarked volley?

Indeed another match on Saturday, the British Lions v Japan. The opening match of the tour of South Africa from Murrayfield :S

Scotland’s chances of progressing have taken a major blow with the news that teenage wonder Billy Gilmour has tested positive for Covid and will now self isolate for 10 days :( .

C'mon Finland!

A Stato factoid

Up to date, Belgium is the only national team in the world to top the FIFA ranking without having won a World Cup or a European Championship trophy.

Quiz question - which team did Belgium beat twice at the 2018 World Cup?

Why that would be England of course. Mike's call for Finland to "c'mon" fell on deaf ears methinks.

Belgium scrape past a brave Finland therefore England have already qualified for the last 16 - thanks

( If Finland had qualified from the group by losing they could also have been jubilant like Scotland and Wales)

One of those defeats to Belgium was a fourth place play off!

Do the whole Scottish squad now have to isolate - like you or I would if we had come into contact with an infectious person?

If they do, then were they maintaining correct social distances from the England players? No, I thought not so the England team should also go into quarantine, as well as anyone else they've been in contact with. Yes I know regular testing takes place but players are still proving positive.

If, scrape, the Wikipedia book of football excuses must be being used excessively. England 1 goal Belgium 7, lucky to escape defeat by Scotland which they would have deserved and staring defeat by the Czech Republic tonight. Come on the Czechs.

England 1-0 Czech Republic in the 70th minute

England could well win the group and face Germany or France in the last 16 according to the commentary - we should be meeting one of the third place qualifiers? Edit Group F finalize tomorrow - looks like Portugal could be third
