The UK will only 'see' between 30 and 50% coverage (more coverage the further North one is). Most people will hardly notice any drop in light conditions during the period of coverage.
For those that are interested, this is part of Saros 147 and today's only gives an Annular at maximum over Greenland and Northern Canada.
Bring on 2024!

Perhaps Bonny Tyler will re-record her song as "Partial Eclipse of the Sun".

Wonderful song!!.

Finally had a gap in the clouds so I knocked up a pin hole projector from a cardboard box and it worked a charm! Although only about 15-20% on the sun was obscured, it's still fascinating to witness.

I managed to get a few record shots through gaps in the cloud with about 20% coverage.
2026 will see us get an 80% partial, and 2027 another 20-40%.

Unfortunately never saw this earlier, just a thought it's a good thing Trump isn't in Cornwall (thank goodness), then it would have been a total eclipse.
