Us oldies have the memories of that dreadful week-end at Imola, with the deaths of Roland, Ayrton, and the serious crash and injury of Rubens. Thankfully we are in a far safer and less dangerous [mostly] era now. Looking forward to it!.
I remember that weekend very well, sadly. Don't think of myself as an "oldie", although I'm starting to suspect that I might be!

What a classic series of events;
1. Announced Canadian GP is cancelled due to CV-19.
2. Then announced Turkish GP will replace it.
3. Next, Turkey to go into full lockdown almost immediately.

Is someone having a giraffe 🙈

Turkish lockdown ends on the 17th of May. Perhaps if the Turkish population are better at obeying lockdown rules than we are they might just get through it. But yes, you have a valid point.

It's Friday!!. Got Sky F.1 Channel, so that's me sorted for a 3 day week end, much to my wife's chagrin. Should be a good race in Portimao. Fingers crossed for Turkey. :) 2nd jab this morning.

I suspect Mr. Mazaspin's time in F.1 will be only one season, but, when your Dad's a Russian billionaire, who knows. Money over skill.

Other sports are available...

Far from boring in my opinion, especially bearing in mind what the next two races are. I guess there wasn't as much overtaking as there has been, but when there's a genuine fight for the lead and not the polesitter just driving off into the distance I don't see the problem. Or maybe it wasn't the winner some wanted to see :S

Then don't watch it then? Obviously clearly enough there for you to warrant trying to watch it.

Absolutely spot on. Was some decent racing through the field, yes didn't live up to the last 2 races. But the next 2 will be processions.

I watch all forms of racing, except rallying. Find them all equally interesting, even the lower formulae, where it is possible to spot talent long before it appears on F.1 managers radar. All require skill, intelligence, nerve and ambition. A passion since I was 17, now 79.

Ha ha, I didn't; as soon as I stopped counting sheep and their lambs I switched over to the snooker. Some peoples reaction is so predictable nay boring.

I love rallying, shame there isn't more on TV

You must have seen films or remember Group B ( Audi Quattro , RS2000 etc) when rallying went mad, bad and basically beserk!

I will never forget a piece by a BBC reporter who went for a spin in the forest driven by Juha Kankkunen. Basically the reporter couldn't speak as the car was doing motorway speeds on a windy icy forest track surrounded by heavy duty trees

One of the pit stops (to change all 4 wheels) took 1.9 seconds yesterday, I took my car to Kwikfit to have the rear brake pads cleaned and it took them almost 3 hours - how does that work?

They had done the MOT a couple of days before (1 hour and 10 minutes in total from dropping the car off, to driving off again), the only issue was an advisory that 'Nearside Rear Service brake binding but not excessively' which they offered to fix for free as a brake test.
It took them almost 3 hours to do it, that's the time that it was up on the ramp, imagine if that was Lewis Hamilton's F1 car - he would be so angry.
