Obviously the Belgian influence in Lando Norris
As for poor old George, born in Kings Lynn and brought up and schooled in Wisbech; I am saying nothing

I am a McLaren man from Woking Surrey before we moved
Norris has done well despite his background!

Slogen, me too with Mclaren.Had a long chat with Bruce in Silverstone paddock more years ago than I can remember. What that man achieved in his short life was amazing, as regards not only racing, but production as well. Long before Woking. He started in Colnbrook, near Slough. Much admired.
Re: Formula 1.
Aah Woking in that well known posh London commuter belt! Just up the road from where I live now is what was the factory of BRM, if anyone remembers them. The building is now the auction house for Golding, Young and Mawer and is regularly seen on BBC Bargain Hunt.

Woking posh? Yes 'Spoons followed by the Rat and Parrot for a civilized night out on payday Thursday
Re: Formula 1.
PLMC.Wow.BRM. Raymond Mays and all that!!. Saw Mike Spence? at Brands in the H.16 Lotus BRM. Also the last F.1 BRM trying to qualify for the British Grand Prix at Brands, driven by Larry Perkins. When asked how it was, he replied ''Lets see. It's slow on the straights, slow up the hills, slow down the hills, slow round the corners. What's the word I'm looking for?. Slow. That'll do!!'' However, much to be admired in Jean and Louis Stanley's work. Ah, Nostalgia!. British Racing Motors, born out of E.R.A English Racing Automobiles.

100ARW. These very brave men were difficult to forget in those deadly times. If only halo's had existed that day at Indianapolis, the result would have been different, as it would have been in many other cases, perhaps too numerous to mention.
Re: Formula 1.
In all fairness, its because of those incidents we have what we do now. I must say not much as hit me in recent years, quite like when Jules Bianchi's family mentioned after Bahrain that Romain is here today because of Jules.

Re: Formula 1.
Alfa Romeo have added some green to the car for Monza to represent the Italian tricolore flag, I wish they would make that a permanent feature as it makes the car look so much better. Hoping for a Ferrari 1-2 as the Tifosi celebrate in such a magnificent way.

Monday 2019 - What a race, what a celebration a varied result like that of 2020 would be incredible
Re: Formula 1.

Re: Formula 1.
Or Hungary (but with the Ferrari's finishing)
Re: Formula 1.
Having watched practice and qualifying today, this should be a fun week-end!!.
Re: Formula 1.
BRM? I spent two days at the Bourne factory as experience during my apprenticeship. Then spent time as a gofer in race control at Silverstone for the next two years.plmc135 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 8:02 amAah Woking in that well known posh London commuter belt! When I last past through the town the buildings were still standing. Memories.

C.24. That must have been fun!. Used to spend a lot of time in the Paddock there. I guess you must have bumped into Peter Scott-Russell more than a few times!!. Happy [dangerous] days.

Morning raptor9
I have difficulty in remembering names as gofers ranked at the bottom of the chain! All the spare time was spent in various garages watching the spanner men. Learned a lot about engines, most forgotten and modern engines are so different from those.
I did get to know Paddy Hopkirk who had a shop nearby my home, does that count? Good luck with your
