COVID-19 UK
On the ITV news at 18:30 today a government spokesman said that although we are not there yet , we could reach a situation where containment is not viable and that 80% of the UK population may contract the virus. He said that the good news is 99% of people will survive.
That still leaves over half a million British citizens in peril

Better advice would be to drink bitter, not lager!

£0.85 maybe - those are anti-bacterial not anti-viral so no use against the latest bug. Sorry, you're not retiring yet.

Re: COVID-19 UK
They did a lovely ginger beer. No hiccups though, just burps.

I've heard a rumour that the reason the mound has been removed at Coningsby is due to the fact that a Cobra meeting considered it to be a likely place for transmission of COVID-19 due to there being in excess of 5000 people there.

A chap at Mildenhall said rather than shaking hands we should fist, I was surprised as I didn't know him that well!

Kind of regret my flippant or facile comments earlier as I have just read that a lady in Reading has become the first person in the UK to die after testing positive for the virus.

Re: COVID-19 UK
After having a series of underlying health problems which contributed to that factor, so I guess not "primarily" because of the virus.
They say you are most at risk over 60, and with some underlying health issues. They are also saying it is less likely to 'catch' it at large outdoors events.
The media, as usual, is blowing this up massively and instilling a massive fear and panic in many people. Yes, you should be worried, but it's not as bad as they are making it out to be.

Its bonkers. The tube in London has to be the most likely place to catch it but there's no mention of measures to counter that. Outdoor events in warm weather are low risk.
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.

Re: COVID-19 UK
I am very concerned. I am 37 and a dialysis patient awaiting a kidney transplant. My 46 year old partner who is a Filipino nurse who has never smoked and tended to eat healthy mostly organic food was sadly diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in late 2018. They told us there is no cure and only treatment which works for a while. She had a new tablet which worked great for a year then stopped working, then chemo for three sessions which they have now stopped as the side effects were destroying her. They now plan to start her on immunotherapy soon. My father has a heart condition. Just a few years ago we thought we were all as fit as a fiddle. As far as I am concerned we must take every precaution not to get this. Sitting in my dialysis unit and the chemo unit with my partner I have thought how vulnerable all the patients are. Also my friends who are lucky enough to have received kidney transplants but are reliant on immunosuppressants.

Thanks to the media, people are now stockpiling products and causing issues for others trying to shop. What a joke, can't wait to see the country completely collapse in on itself when we hit 1,000 cases
