Federal Air Marshalls

Post by zero_gravity » Sat May 25, 2019 2:24 pm

Discussion a few minutes ago on satcoms [ IOR 25E 1.546 ghz ] involving a westbound Delta flight and Delta Ops , their corp security legal dept and duty pilot.
It seems that two of the on board Air Marshalls have had to break cover to tackle a couple of drunken passengers who were making trouble.
Its unusual for FAMs to break cover unless the cockpit is in danger of being breached.
Talk was of diverting back to Dublin and all the financial/strategic implications of doing so . Flight safety being paramount ..... however the crew confirmed that with the two men in the custody of the FAMs they were happy to continue on to
commence the Atlantic crossing.

Interestingly it was mentioned that there can be anything up to four FAMs on each flight. I thought there was only ever a max of two.

Nice to know they are there and willing to step in if things get hairy!
