Well, the opening ceremony wasn't too painful, although the wife insisted in singing along...
Great start for the Home Nation.
Sadly, I fear we may see an extra 10p/litre on fuel in the morning....

Spain 3 Portugal 3. A very entertaining game and some fantastic goals. Let just hope every game ends up being that good. The Morocco and Iran game wasn't to bad either.

The Portugal / Spain game was a great spectacle and how how the World Cup should be. Four games today, that should help the 12 hour shift I'm on

Next time Mark Clattenburg comes on in terms of VAR discussion, have a look at the huge ingot of gold on his left wrist (disguised as a watch).

That was the first England game I've enjoyed for years. Excellent header from John Stones to allow Harry Kane to follow up and a excellent finish from Kane for the winner. Thought Pickford was unlucky not to save the penalty.

Think Mr Gareth Southgate should take his team to a football pitch and show them what a goal actually looks like.
Then when they can recognise a goal see how many can actually find it again .
Joking aside that has to be the worst refereeing i have ever witnessed ,
the ref seemed determined not to award England a penalty no matter what the Tunisian,s did.

It was dismal. As long as we were drawing 1-1 the teams performance was poor or substandard. In extra time they are lucky enough to score another goal and all of a sudden people seem to think the team were great!

I don't think the expectations were that high but a win in the first match is a great start despite the referee's best efforts.

I'm born and bred in England. Happen to suffer this misfortune of living in Wales.

For the record, from my personal point of view, the sooner England are knocked out the better. For me the best World Cup would be one where neither England, Wales or Scotland are in it.

I'll tell you something else too lol. Watching Rashford being interviewed by the BBC he doesn't half talk a load of crap.

He's trying to imply that the Tunisia match panned out just as it was "planned" lol.
